Face to Face Counselling

A benefit of face-to-face counselling is that it provides individuals with an opportunity to take time out from their everyday environment to a setting where they are given space and support to explore their feelings.

I offer :

  • a free, brief initial meeting (or telephone conversation) to discuss how I work, to answer your questions and to identify whether I would be able to help you.
  • sessions of 60 minutes duration (some counsellors offer 50 minutes).
  • daytime and early evening appointments.
  • appointments at mutually agreed times.
  • several locations in Glasgow :
    • southside (G46)
    • City centre (G2)
  • a service to individuals, couples and small groups.
  • both long and short term counselling, depending on an individual's needs.

Telephone Counselling

Telephone counselling, where sessions are 30-60 minutes in duration, is just like face to face counselling and can be useful for individuals who :

  • have a busy schedule and need to fit in a telephone session at work or home.
  • may not live near a counsellor or may not wish to use local services.
  • may feel more comfortable talking on the phone rather than face to face.
  • may have physical mobility or transport difficulties.

However, it isn't appropriate for people experiencing an emergency crisis nor is it an advice line for people seeking immediate answers to their problems. Organisations like the Samaritans may be more suitable in these situations.

"You brought me back from despair....it was great to have someone to talk to....  I know I will cope no matter what is around the corner."

"Thank you for listening at time when I have rambled on....  I appreciate your patience."
